Slippery Elm Bark (Ulmus rubra).Common Names: Indian Elm, Red Elm, American Elm, Moose Elm.
Organic. Kosher. May ease sore throat, coughs, bleeding from the lungs and other lung problems, dryness of the throat, wasting diseases, digestive problems, nausea. Soothes bowels (including IBS & constipation) by coating the digestive tract. Used topically to sooth sores.
Energetically: Cooling, moistening. Taste: Sweet.

Warning: Not safe during pregnancy. Take with 8 at least 8 oz. of water. DO not take within 2 hours of any medications. Increases kapha dosha. Best digested with a little clove or cinnamon.
Tea directions: Barely boil 8 oz water or your favorite milk/substitute, add 1 teaspoon of the loose herbs (you can use a tea ball, french press, or other way to strain herbs or leave them in the tea for a super strong brew), steep 10 to 15 minutes, drink hot. Sweeten with honey or clove as desired. Nurture your body with up to 3 cups a day.
