Mucura (Petiveria alliacea)
These dried leaves from the Amazon are used to treat anxiety, influenza, asthma, cancer, inflammation of the bladder (cystitis), rheumatism, impotence, prevention of dental cavities, convulsions, hydrops, convulsions, paralysis, venereal diseases, protects liver, cramps, headaches.
Raises blood sugar quickly.
Excessive use can cause gastrointestinal disorders.
Do not use if pregnant, or trying to become pregnant.
Preparation and administration:
For tea: boil 1 teaspoon of herbs in 8 oz water, for 5 to 10 minutes. (you can use a tea ball, french press, or other way to strain herbs if you don't want it to be as "earthy"). Cool and drink before meals.
For headaches, follow the previous directions and apply cold pads of contents on the head.
For convulsions: Macerate 150 grams in alcohol or brandy and apply massage onto the body.
Start with one cup a day, before a meal, increasing up to 3 cups a day if you want. The best results vary per person. You may need to drink it for a week or so to start seeing a noticeable difference.
