Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis). Common Names: Althea Root, Sweet Weed, Mallards, Guimauve, Mortification Plant, Schloss Tea, Wymote.

This organic root from Bulgaria is commonly used to lower blood sugar & ease stomach ulcers, diarrhea, constipation, swelling of the stomach lining, and pain & swelling of the mucous membranes that line the respiratory tract.  It may also ease insect bites, dry cough, skin infections & burns. It can be used as a mucilage: a thick, gooey substance that has a soothing effect on membranes.

Can be smoked to ease a sore throat & congestion.

Also used as a flavoring agent in foods.

Ancients used this for protection, physic development, and as offerings.

Warning: Take one hour after any medications and do take if you take Lithium.

For Tea: Barely boil 8 oz water, add 1 teaspoon of the loose herbs (you can use a tea ball, french press, or other way to strain herbs or leave them in the tea for a super strong brew), steep 10 to 15 minutes, drink hot. Sweeten with a natural sweetener if desired.

Nurture your body with 1 to 3 cups of tea a day.
