Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa). Common Names: Una de gato, life-giving vine of Peru, hawk's claw.
This loose, ground plant from Peru is used to promote healthy bones, a regular menstrual cycle, and ease arthritis (especially osteoarthritis and rheumatoid), asthma, gastritis, dermal and urogenital inflammations, gastric ulcers, many stomach problems, diabetes, virus, degenerative diseases and more. It promotes a healthy immune system, can nurture your body as you fight against AIDS and cancer, convalescence and general weakness.
It is considered one of the Master Teacher Plants by Shaman in Peru. Spiritually it is used to balance and strengthen the mind and body.
Warnings: Not safe for those that are pregnant, nursing, have any auto-immune disease, Leukemia, blood disorders, or low blood pressure. Do not take if you are on medications changed by the liver, immuno-suppressants.
For Tea: Barely boil 8 oz water, add 1 teaspoon of the loose herbs (you can use a tea ball, french press, or other way to strain herbs or leave them in the tea for a super strong brew), steep 10 to 15 minutes, drink hot. Sweeten with a natural sweetener if desired.
Nurture your body with 1 to 3 cups of tea a day.
